I do have a lot to report this week

Oh goodness I do have a lot to report this week :) It has been very exciting and so fast all at the same time. Saturday night we got the phone call--my companion had changes, and they were going to close San Lucas as a sister area! Hermana Waldie was going home this change, so she didnt mind as much, but Hermana Rizo was very mad! She definitely did not want to leave. Haha. Anyways Sunday the sisters came to Santiago and we had "District Conference" for church with the branch from San Lucas. Elder Falabella from the 70 came and gave a really nice talk. It was way cool :) The next day was changes! We woke up at 3AM and headed off to the capital, all of our district. On the way the bus broke down, and we had to wait for another bus to pass on the highway--they actually threw everyones suitcases from our busses roof onto the roof of the other bus! It was way intense :) Then we got to the cap and the change meeting was amazing as always. Me, Patterson, Lowry, and Hutchings were all there, so we got to catch up on alot. Patterson is leaving this change! It is so weird! Then I had an interview (im officially district leader! So weird!) and then I went and said goodbye to a lot of missionaries leaving. It is still SO weird that Hermana Waldie is home now! She was definitely one of my best friends in the mission, you guys would love her :) Anyways then we had the meeting, and I got Elder Tarax as my companion! He is from Quetzaltenango here in Guatemala and is AWESOME. He is so stoked about the work, is working so hard already at Tzutuil, and all around is a way cool guy. Wish you could meet him! Then we found out that Elders Guzman and Kahaunaele would be going to San Lucas! They are also awesome and Im so stoked to have them in our district. Yesterday we all went to San Lucas for breakfast on Pday and then went down to the lake. Way cool :)
In short, things are going great! :D Im so excited for this change with everyone, and so ready to get refocused on the work again. Im thinking we will be able to do some good things here :)

Two things I just thought of before I let you go, stories from my crazy lake village people :)
1. During the hurricane a lot of the mountain had mudslides and a lot of trees got carried away, you can actually see the scars when you go to San Lucas. It was pretty bad, but after the storm, the people noticed that a white rock appeared on the mountain side, and you can see it from almost anywhere in the village. Everyone is saying it looks just like the "Virgin Guadelupe" and how people are going up to it and praying to it to protect the village. Even today people are still in the streets with binoculars trying to get a glimpse, but they say you can only see it if you have faith :) Oh these crazy San Lucans, gotta love them :) Hermana Waldie always said she thinks it looks like a fish. "El Pez Protector" :D
2. They are saying that up in Quiche 2 angels appeared to a lady and gave her a photo of the Virgin Mary, and then said, be prepared! Shes coming! Everyone now is trying to find the lady with the photo :)
Loving Guatemala as ever. Miss you guys :)
