Still in Patzun

Hey family! Dad Mom Jerm Alex Lanie Linus--

AGAIN?!?!?! Holy cow you guys stink :) Why didnt I get any of this snow before??? Haha oh well. Sounds like everything is going good this week (Superbowl! Who won?) and that everyone is keeping entertained. Be sure to send pics! :D

This week is officially the first week of my third change in the mission! It is going crazy fast. I get to stay in Patzun, but my companion Elder Gaido had a change, and right now he is in Houcoutenango, close to Antigua. I was glad to go to change meeting though, tons of missionaries are there so its good to see everyone. And the weirdest part! I had an interview! Im officially senior companion (crazy! Usually doesnt happen till change 8 or 9), and its pretty intimidating but I know with the help of the Lord everything will be good. My new companion is Elder Gonzalez from Panama. He is AWESOME and so enthusiastic about the work! I think we'll be able to do good things this change.

On Saturday Ophelia got baptized! I was so excited for her, she was so ready. Shes such an awesome example, always reading her scriptures (in her non native language!), now shes going to seminary, and always wanting to learn more about the gospel. I wish you could meet the family she lives with. The family Ajpop, they have 12 kids, and they are CRAZY! But they are the funniest family and really powerful members.

Before I forget, they announced at the change meeting--Guatemala is getting a new mission! I am wayyyyyyy excited! :) I cant remember what it is called, Sister Aldridge might know, Guatemala Retornejo or something. Anyway its way exciting! There is always the possibility that they will send missionaries there from other Guatemala missions--President said he would explain more as details unfold. We'll see!

Kaqchikel is actually coming along pretty well! Im still not very apt at it, only because we are still just learning little phrases, but I will try and send a way for you to hear it! Maybe I can make a video on my camera. The people in Patzun are very reserved, and very traditional in their religions. But once you find someone willing to listen (very common, especially with friends from the church), they are WAY accepting. Once a member gets baptized here, they almost NEVER go inactive. Its cool to see the unity the ward has. Very fun! By the way, you can just send it to the mission office! (thats the address where you sent the last one.) Addresses in the mountains are very obscure here and I dont even know ours, let alone how to get mail. But we have zone conference in 5 weeks, and I definitely think it will get to the mission office before then. Thanks!

Anyways so good to hear from everyone as always. Cant wait till next week! The work is going awesome--Im so excited to hit the ground running this change :)

P.S--Elder Hutchings is back in my district! He is opening an area with another elder! Ahhh I am so stoked :D
