Bonus blog!!

Tyler sent us a package today with a letter enclosed, and I thought you might like to hear some of it.
"Merry Christmas! Here is a box of some Guatemalan paraphernalia. Ok I know it is kinda lame since it is mostly food, but don't worry. When I get out of the capital I'll start collecting some stuff to send home. I can't remember if I told you about the shops here (fiendas), but they are awesome! They are like little 7-11's, and they are literally on every corner of every street. I don't know what I ever did without them :) This box has some of my favorite snacks to get. The Doritos here are AMAZING. You'll have to tell me which kind everyone likes the best. Also the mints are my favorite mints I've EVER had. Let me know what everyone likes, and I'll be sure to send more :)
Today was Dia del Diablo where everyone goes out in the streets and burns pinatas of the devil filled with fireworks. It was AMAZING! Explosions everywhere! It was cool to see the people get so united in their traditions.
I wish I could express how much I love it here. It's a remarkable country with a remarkable people. Nietzsche wrote, "We have no words for what is truly alive in our hearts"--this is true with me! But know that I love the people here, and love being able to serve, teach, and learn from them."
