Whew! Well this has been an interesting week. :) I am quite exhausted--it's been fun, sad, exciting, anxious--the works. But there've been a lot of memories made, and it'll be a week to remember. I've been lucky to be where I am.
We picked the Broughs up on Monday night--we and the Baldwins headed over to the airport, and 3 of the other mission presidents in Guatemala were there as well, along with Elders Clarke, Falabella, and Martino. We took the Broughs over to the mission home, and then the next day we had orientation with the new missionaries while the Broughs met with the area presidency. That was fun, but anxious at the same time; it was very climactic, and stretched out at the same time. Much like watching an hourglass. Anyway then Wednesday we picked up the Broughs and went to changes, and the Baldwins went to Tikal. Changes was great, very exciting as always. We had an incredible group go home this change; several elders that I'm really going to miss. Elders Lewis, Deering, Davis, Lowry--exceptional missionaries. I am lucky to know them.
Thursday we had the first "meet the president" meeting, down in the coast. And then afterwards we had divisions with President Brough, Elder Rosales and I in our area. It was great to be with him, and a huge learning experience for me. Friday morning we and the office elders picked up the Baldwins at 6:45 in the morning and took them to the airport. That was hard. I'm really going to miss the Baldwins. I owe so much of what my mission has become to them. They are two of the most remarkable people I've ever known.
And then ever since, we've been doing more "meet the president" meetings. Today was our last one in the capital. And then next week we start zone leader council and interviews again! The cycle never stops. But I wouldn't have it any other way.
Hope the week goes well and that you are all reading your scriptures. Love you and miss you--
Tyler
